- Steep yourself in history by taking a hike up the appropriately named Steep Hill to visit the Cathedral (where scenes from The Da Vinci Code were filmed with Tom Hanks. The Castle, Bishop’s Old Palace and Jews House as well as a number of Roman sites dotted around the city. The world famous Victorian-style Christmas Market, staged in the historic uphill area of the city, attracts 250,000 visitors annually with its colourful mix of festive stalls, food and entertainment.
- For those of you in search of culture Lincoln has the Theatre Royal, host to touring shows and pre-West End plays, the Usher Art Gallery, and a number of museums. Orchestral concerts are regularly held in the Cathedral. Plays and concerts are staged in the grounds of the Castle, and the Bishop’s Palace and The Lawn double up as venues for the Lincoln Shakespeare Company.
- An annual arts festival lasts for around three weeks in May and attracts a varied programme of established performers and up and coming acts, with the Brayford Water Festival following on closely in July. Finally, Lincoln has a wide selection of pubs and restaurants to suit any budget.
- There are plenty of cycle tracks for the amateur - but don’t be deceived, Lincoln is not as flat as you may think. There are also some excellent walks in and around the City, including the Viking Way footpath.

The home of golf in England and the headquarters of the English Golf Union offers two championship courses, The Hotchkin and The Bracken. The Hotchkin; this magnificent 18-hole golf course, par 73 at 6,866 yards, is located at the English Golf Union's National Golf Centre. The Bracken; Located at England's National Golf Centre, this golf course closely resembles those in America in style and layout. There are other 18 hole courses within 5 mile radius to Branston Hall , namely Blankney, Canwick, Carholme also a couple of 9 hole courses Pottergate and Heighington. - If you are looking for beaches we are 40 miles from east coast Skegness with miles of sandy beaches and for those who enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of a busy coastal town there are plenty of secluded beaches along the coastline such as Huttoft, Anderby Creek and Gibraltar Point where there is an abundance of wildlife.
- Lincolnshire also boasts the beautiful Wolds only a few miles away with superb walks and historical villages with many attractions to visit.
